Rick Zolzer is an American former public address announcer for the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association. After three seasons of serving as Continental Airlines Arena voice for the Nets, he was fired in June 2004. During his 3 seasons as public address announcer for the Nets, New Jersey won back-to-back Eastern Conference titles in 2002 & 2003, as well as reaching the second round of the NBA Playoffs in 2004. Zolzer is the current public address voice for baseball's Hudson Valley Renegades, a position he held during the late 1990s until he was fired for a public outburst against the umpire. To date, he is the only known PA announcer in affiliated baseball to have been ejected from a game by the umpire crew. He is also the PA announcer for the United States Military Academy's Michie Stadium for Army's five home games in 2007. Rick Zolzer's tenure at West Point came to an end before the start of the 2013 football season as Army Athletics ended their relationship with him. He is also currently the Executive Director of the Renegades Pitch for Kids Fund and a huge fan of Earth, Wind, & Fire.
